Brenda B Sharpe

I grew up in a large family in the small town of Sunbury, North Carolina. At 18 I headed off to UNC Chapel Hill where I met my husband, Cliff. After college we settled back in his hometown of Lumberton, NC, with the expectation of staying in the family business and raising our kids there. Little did we know what life had in store for us. After the business was sold, my husband joined the Navy with the expressed plan of serving his country for four years and then staying in the Reserve. Well, 20 moves, 3 kids and 30 years later he retired. It was a challenging career for him and a wonderful opportunity for our family to live and travel all over this great country and world. Along the way we had the chance to meet and often entertain some extraordinary people—young men and women from small towns like ours that had a desire to serve their country, military leaders, heads of state, politicians and foreign dignitaries. When we moved, we bought, sold, rented and even exchanged (1031) real estate—I loved it and finally got my Real Estate license in Virginia in 2004. It has been a positive complement to my MBA (Old Dominion University) since understanding and interpreting statistics are a viable part of my profession. I sold in both Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads before we moved back to North Carolina in 2012. It has been great moving closer to family and we are having fun reconnecting to some long lost friends in the state! When I am not showing or marketing houses, I am playing at the gym, reading, cooking, traveling or walking with my husband and dog in the neighborhood and sometimes on the golf course! Thank you for giving me this opportunity to introduce myself. In addition to working in Real Estate, I have worked selling advertising in both the newspaper and magazine industries. I feel my experience helps me analyze, interpret and target the market to best meet the needs of my clients.
