Richard March takes pride in ensuring each of his clients benefit from the knowledge and insight he has gained from over 25 years of combined experience in client service, management, quality and education with an international focus. Richard’s educational endeavors include the completion of an undergraduate degree with honors from Franklin & Marshall College, a graduate degree from Georgetown University, and a doctorate from The George Washington University. An avid, life-long learner, Richard developed a deep interest in German from an early age and pursued this interest throughout his schooling. He studied abroad at Philipps University in Marburg, Germany as an undergraduate and subsequently received a prestigious Fulbright Scholar award from the U.S. Department of State, which afforded him the opportunity to research, study and teach in Germany. These experiences shaped, expanded and enriched Richard’s global perspective and enabled him to develop a deep appreciation for world cultures. Richard also possesses near-native proficiency in German for clients who prefer to conduct business in German and holds the prestigious Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation from the National Association of Realtors®.
Much like the diverse, global understanding of cultures Richard developed through his educational experiences, his varied interests and professional endeavors provide a broad foundation from which to understand the needs and passions of clients from diverse backgrounds and to assist them in meeting their real estate goals. During his time in Germany, for example, Richard travelled extensively throughout Europe and conducted a study of early 20th century art nouveau architecture in six European countries, including France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. This project sparked his interest in real estate and forms of architecture as cultural artifacts with unique histories. In the same way that architecture narrates a unique history, every client and every home tell a unique story. Richard takes time to listen to and to understand these unique narratives and enjoys the diversity of the many stories clients and homes have to tell.
Prior to working in real estate, Richard served as an award-winning corporate manager and consultant, during which time he earned professional certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), which qualify him to see different frames of reference in the real estate industry which may not otherwise be apparent. Richard takes pride in ensuring seamless management of the entire buying and selling process, from first consultation through settlement. He leverages his years of experience and varied areas of expertise to assist clients in completing their home-ownership dreams while providing them with the peace of mind they deserve.
In his free time, Richard is an avid reader who appreciates literature from a variety of genres and on an array of themes, including: real estate, business management, organizational leadership, learning, and development, philosophy, language and linguistics, sociology and contemporary German fiction. He also enjoys quiet walks in scenic natural surroundings while traveling both domestically and abroad, and exploring new cultures and ways of seeing the world.
