Built together in 1929 and 1930, The Carlyle House and the iconic Carlyle Hotel were designed to appear as a single seamless building, one short block from Fifth Avenue and Central Park.

A private door, controlled by doormen, connects the lobbies of the two buildings and provides Carlyle House residents with direct and private access to the array of services of the Carlyle Hotel.

THE CARLYLE HOTEL

Both designed by the noted architectural firm of Bien and Prince and named in honor of the British essayist, Thomas Carlyle, the hotel has served every American president since Truman. Heads of state and HRH, the Prince of Wales, Diana, Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, their Majesties and the kings and queens of Denmark, Greece, Spain and Sweden have chosen to stay here along with a gallery of film stars.

The incredible service of The Carlyle Hotel, always both dedicated and discreet, has provided the basis for the incredible draw of this hotel over the decades. As one competitor put it "you can't compete with time and legacy".

THE CARLYLE HOUSE UNUSUALLY LOW MAINTENACE

Because The Carlyle House benefits from the income of the commercial shops along Madison Avenue, its maintenances remain exceptionally low for the size and services of their apartments. "Note that the monthly maintenance for apartment 9A is $5,153. There is a 2% Flip Tax."

THE CARLYLE HOUSE - Apartment 9 A

This is an elegant eight-room apartment of approximately 3,000 feet according to the floorplan artist. The high ceilings and classic details amplify the impression of space. The 24-foot entrance gallery leads forward to the living room with a wood-burning fireplace and three large windows facing to the west toward Central Park. The primary bedroom has a full en-suite bath, as do the two additional bedrooms. The large dining room is fed by a butler's pantry.
